Although China may not be as brutally critiscized as it was before, the Tibetans still wish to pressure China into giving them independence. Pro-Tibetan groups are also having trouble holding on to the support they have, and they are currently trying to keep the attention of their supporters. Tibet is beginning to lose the limelight, but they are working hard to get it back. Tibet has also attempted to campaign to sponsors like coca-cola, urging them to consider withdrawing their support unless the torch doesn’t pass through Tibet. However, these attempts are not very successful.

Many people from all around China are aiding the victims of the recent quake.
Although communism and China’s increasing levels of chauvinism consider donating private funds taboo, the overwhelming public response to help the quake’s victims suggests otherwise and these striking acts of kindness are persuading the Chinese government to increase transparency.

aa The Olympic flame finally returns to China ending the controversial world relay. Welcoming the torch runners are acts of patriotism from the locals, who sport red t-shirts and Chinese flags. Foreigners caught up in the excitement say that it isn’t right to mix sports and politics.
aa Human rights advocates elsewhere around the world are critical about China not fulfilling the requirements given to the nation in order for it to host the Olympics. This critical way of thinking is sparking xenophobia within an angry China.
